Foundations supported by the Lions of District 22W
Lions Club International Foundation
Mission: To empower Lions Club volunteers and partners to improve health and well-being, strengthen communities, and support those in need. Through impactful humanitarian services and global grants, we strive to create lasting change, promote peace, and enhance international understanding.
Lions Vison Research Foundation
Purpose: The primary goal of the Lions Vision Research Foundation (LVRF) is to support low vision research and rehabilitation, reducing the impact of vision loss and blindness. Through a strong partnership with the Lions Vision Research and Rehabilitation Center (LVC) at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions in Baltimore, MD, we’ve helped establish a model program in low vision care and rehabilitation.
Lions Youth Foundation
Mission: To empower young people to make a difference in their lives and communities through service activities supported by Lions Clubs across Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia.
Lions KidsSight Foundation
Nationwide vision screening initiative led by Lions clubs to detect vision issues early in children. By training volunteers and using advanced screening tools, the program helps ensure kids receive the care they need for healthy vision—crucial for learning and development. Lions KidSight also supports research, tracks screening results, and promotes high standards in children’s eye health.
Mobile Screening Unit

Our Lions District is proud to offer a new Mobile Screening Unit, bringing essential health services directly to our communities. This unit provides free screenings for vision, hearing, blood pressure, and diabetes—helping detect potential health issues early, especially for those who may have limited access to care. By traveling to local events, schools, and community centers, we’re making preventive health care more accessible, convenient, and impactful for everyone.
